I just found a green caterpillar in a phal crown today after noticing a hole in the young leave. I had never heard of this. I put some rubbing alcohol in the crown from fright and the caterpillar came out...... I hope it can be saved as well as yours. Please give us an update. Do you know what caterpillar it was?

Good Photos! One summer I found a waxy rectangular object about 1"x1". Its interior was divided into little slots. I had no idea what it was. I left it on the twig on which I found it for the rest of the summer. In the autumn I picked the little box and its twig and put it into a small bottle near my kitchen sink. There it sat for several years. Then one day, while I was watching a video on mantises on RUclips I saw little baby mantises emerging from a tiny slotted box like mine. At last, the riddle was solved. The strange little object which I had collected was a mantis' OOTHECUM!
